The 1998 La Poja, the estate's flagship wine, was produced from 100% Corvina Veronese and aged 27 months in new French oak demi-muids. An opaque blue/purple color is accompanied by dazzling aromas of blackberries, lead pencil shavings, acacia flowers, and pain grille. Never mind the fanciful name: It’s basically Corvina from the Verona area made in an ultramodern, international style. The color is dark, the nose extracted and sweet, and the mouthfeel thick and creamy.
