The 2018 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch has aromas of red apple peel, white pepper and honeysuckle with notions of baker's yeast and spices. Medium-bodied, it has a good core of nutty fruits with a long, gently leesy finish. 9,445 cases produced.

The 2017 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch aged on the lees in 35% new oak with weekly batonnage. It reluctantly opens to apple pie, toast, apricot, roasted almonds and smoky reduction. It’s medium-bodied, silky and more expressive in the mouth with honeyed, savory notions framing the intense fruits, enlivened by juicy acidity and finishing long and textured. This will benefit from another year in bottle.

The 2016 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch gives up gregarious notes of nectarines, guava and passion fruit with suggestions of almond croissant and honeysuckle. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a lovely creaminess to the texture and oodles of freshness, finishing long and fruity. 10,051 cases produced.

Opening with apricot, guava and honey toast scents with a waft of butterscotch, the 2015 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch has a medium body laden with ripe stone fruit and toast flavors, marked by a lively backbone and finishing clean and fresh.

The 2014 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch is a rather complex blend of multiple heritage clones from California, such as the Wente, Robert Young, Rued, the U.C. Davis Clone 4, and the Spring Mountain Clone. The wine offers up plenty of white peach, honeysuckle, full-bodied elegance, a touch of mango and almond paste. There are also notes of green apple skin. This beauty is about 40% new French oak and their second largest cuvée at 6,500 cases. Like the other wines, this went through 100% malolactic before being bottled unfiltered.
