From the maligned vintage of 2011, Patz & Hall hit a home run with their 2011 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch. The vines struggled, and the result was tiny, small, intensely concentrated berries that were, nonetheless, healthy and full of flavor and texture. That has been translated into a beautiful wine, with plenty of honeysuckle, fresh poached pear, pineapple and citrus oil notes, a lovely medium to full-bodied texture, impressive purity and length. It should drink nicely for the next 4-5 years.
