The 2016 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru la Boudriotte has a fine, quite stony, tensile bouquet that is Meursault-like in style as those walnut aromas begin to surface. The palate is very well balanced, tensile with an edgy acidity, vibrant and mineral driven with a crisp and spicy finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent—one of the best from the domaine and possibly one of the best premier cru Chassagnes that I tasted in what was a very challenging vintage.
