From bottle, the 2016 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Embazées (Maison Louis Jadot) is showing well, unfurling in the glass with aromas of yellow orchard fruits, mint, almond paste and spice. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and supple, with an elegantly glossy attack that segues into an open-knit, expressive mid-palate and a pure, saline finish. This hails from effectively the sole sector of Chassagne-Montrachet to escape the 2016 frosts.
