The 1999 Montrachet bursts from the glass with toasted oak, mineral, and smoked bacon aromas. This broad, rich, and expansive wine has loads of apple, pear, and white peach flavors. It also proposes a long, pure finish that surprisingly seems to reveal some tannin (not a common characteristic of white Burgundies). Anticipated maturity: 2003-2010.
