The 1997 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche was scheduled to be bottled in December 1998, 15 months after the harvest. The 1996, in contrast, was not bottled until April 7, 1998, 19 months after its harvest! The 1997 Montrachet has splendid aromatics. Profound scents of minerals, earth, flowers, pears, and toasty oak lead to a broad, ample, concentrated, and rich character.
