The 1994 Valpolicella Classico La Grola, a single-vineyard offering, is close to outstanding. A deep ruby/purple color, and sweet, black-cherry, nutty, smoky aromas are followed by an intense, savory, supple-textured wine with excellent concentration, undeniable finesse, and admirable equilibrium. It is a tasty, fleshy Valpolicella for consuming over the next 5-6 years. This estate has greatly improved the quality of its wines over the last few years , and I am becoming increasingly fond of their entire portfolio of Valpolicellas .A Leonardo Lo Cascio Selection, Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel.
