Chapoutier's 2019 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche Blanc is fresh and lively, with scents of lime zest, tangerine and melon on the nose. It's medium-bodied, clean and zesty, with a welcome crispness to the finish. Drink it over the next year or so.

A plump, medium-bodied blend of 40% Roussanne, 25% Viognier, 20% Grenache Blanc and 15% Clairette, the 2018 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche Blanc seems to have ratcheted up the quality level. Hints of pear, melon, pineapple and citrus all come together harmoniously on the nose and palate, finishing with a hint of silky texture.

From clay and limestone soils, the 2017 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche Blanc is a top-notch example of this cuvée. Pineapple and orange notes feature prominently in this medium to full-bodied white, underscored by hints of bitter pith and lime zest on the finish.

Fairly neutral on the nose, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche Blanc offers mere hints of marshmallow, nectarine and pineapple. It's more assertive on the medium-bodied palate, where those flavors come to the fore, joined by lime-like acidity on the finish. Drink it while it's young and fresh.

A wine where the quality continues to rise, the 2014 C?tes du Rh?ne Belleruche Blanc sells for a song, yet delivers real character in its tangerine, mineral water and citrus bouquet. Medium-bodied, clean, crisp and delicious, it won’t make old bones, yet is ideal as a meal starter (or hot summer day) over the coming year or so.
