Probably the best white Cotes du Rhone he has ever produced in my experience is the 2006 Cotes du Rhone Belleruche, a blend of Marsanne, Bourboulenc, and Grenache blanc. Gloriously ripe but restrained notes of apricot, peach, and mineral jump from the glass of this deliciously fruity, clean, medium-bodied wine, bursting at the seams with personality and character. It should be food-friendly and best drunk over its first several years of life. The great terroiriste and biodynamic farmer of the northern Rhone, Michel Chapoutier, continues to display impressive talent for turning out strong wines from the southern Rhone even though his undeniable strengths are his single-vineyard wines from the north.Importer: Terlato Wines International, Lake Bluff, IL; tel.
