A blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Sangiovese, the 2020 Palazzo della Torre is luscious, dark and exceedingly contemporary in style and execution. This is a soft and well-textured expression with layers of ripe fruit, black cherry, spice, bitter chocolate and tangy Spanish cedar from oak aging. The oak is quite dominate, so be ready for this particular stylistic approach. This is an ample production of 600,000 bottles.

An easy-drinking bend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Sangiovese, the Allegrini 2018 Palazzo della Torre is a medium-bodied red with dark fruit aromas, Morello cherry and dried blackberry. Like other wines from this vintage, the wine is a bit compact and short in terms of mouthfeel, but there is enough momentum to pair with a classic spaghetti with meat ragù.

Here is one of the best sellers from the Allegrini portfolio of wines. The 2015 Palazzo della Torre is a popular blend of 40% Corvina Veronese, 30% Corvinone, 25% Rondinella and 5% Sangiovese. A third of the fruit see appassimento for 90 days, and the rest is fermented as fresh grapes. The air-dried grapes are fermented in December, and the blend is made before the wine goes into neutral barrique for 15 months of aging. You get dried fruit aromas with tobacco and sweet spice. Production is large with 500,000 bottles released.
