The 1999 Palazzo della Torre is a proprietary blend of 70% Corvina, 15% Rondinela, 10% Syrah, and 5% Sangiovese aged 17 months in small French foudres. Its bouquet reveals notions of spicy new oak along with chocolate, black currants, cherries, licorice, and tar. Deep, full-bodied, and layered, with a supple texture, it should drink well for 5-7 years. A Leonardo Locascio Selection, Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel. (201) 445-0620
