The 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva sees 12 months of barrique compared to six month for the base wine. Consequently, it offers greater intensity both in terms of concentration and extraction. Dried cherries and black currants are framed by delicate touches of spice, forest floor and dark tobacco. A fine point of acidity brightens the palate. This Riserva is a true pleasure to drink. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022. When publisher Paolo Panerai set out to buy a wine estate in the late 1970s he had the great foresight and intuition to purchase Castellare di Castellina. He selected a property with a proven track record and enormous untapped potential. Over the decades and under his steady leadership, Castellare earned an unquestionable reputation for consistency and excellence.
