The 1999 Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard (70% new French oak) showed a touch of volatile acidity, which was not annoying, but certainly present. The wine had a dark plum/garnet color, good baking spices, along with roasted herbs, underbrush, pomegranate and plum-like fruit. This wine is round, not as complex and savory as the 1998, but well-done and fully mature. It should hold for another 2-4 years.
