Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers 2011 has an endearing, beautifully defined bouquet with sensual, natural brambly red fruit, briary, mineral and a judicious touch of sous-bois. It is very focused and delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with silky smooth tannins and well-judged acidity, harmonious in the mouth with quite a lush finish that is modern in style but not over-extracted. This should drink well for the next 10-15 years.
