Meo's 1991 Nuits St.-Georges-Les Meurgers is stunning, even better than the super 1990. With a deep, saturated, ruby/purple color, and a fragrant, perfumed nose of sweet black fruits, herbs, licorice, and flowers, this deep, medium to full-bodied, rich, sweet, expansively flavored wine possesses enough structure to warrant leaving a few bottles in the cellar for the next 3 years and drink them between 1996-2006. It is an exceptionally fine burgundy, as well as another example of a 1991 that turned out richer and more complete than the 1990.

NOTES ON THE 1992s FROM BARREL: Meo's 1992s are among the most successful wines made in the Cote de Nuits in that vintage. They are even softer than the 1991s, with excellent concentration for the vintage.
