An impressive white, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Les Hauts de Barville (a blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Clairette and Bourboulenc aged 40% in barrels) offers up beautifully fresh and defined aromas of spiced apples, pear and honey, with tinges of minerality, to go with a medium-bodied, juicy and lively profile on the palate. Drink it over the coming couple of years. Drink 2013-2015.
This serious estate is run by Laurent Brotte, with consulting help from Philippe Cambie. The wines offer high quality across the board and can represent fantastic values.
