The full-bodied 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape doesn't appear to have the concentration to warrant a higher score, but it is silky and easy to drink, with delicious blackberry and black olive notes.

A blend sourced from numerous sites across the appellation, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape is full-bodied and plush, loaded with notes of asphalt, blackberries and black olives. Plush and easy to drink, this blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault may be consumed young or aged up to a decade.

Hints of cinnamon and clove accent dark, plummy fruit on the nose of the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape. Showing the domaine's characteristic ripeness and opulence, it's plush and broad in the mouth, even a bit creamy textured, then finishes on notes of Mexican chocolate. Produced from tiny yields of approximately 15 hectoliters per hectare, it should drink well for at least a decade.

From yields that averaged just 17 hectoliters per hectare (half the appellation's maximum), the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape contains less Grenache than usual in the blend, being composed of 55% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault. Cola and chocolate notes dominate this full-bodied, silky-textured wine, adding hints of dried spices and licorice on the finish.

A blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 5% each Cinsault and Mourvèdre, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape is full-bodied, rich and round. Despite being a touch on the warm side, it's deceptively easy to drink, with sexy flavors of raspberries and chocolate that glide to a smooth, lingering finish.
