The 2013 Santenay Clos de Malte has a stern, slightly austere bouquet with wilted yellow flower petals, dandelion, something autumnal and introspective here. The palate is fresh and linear with good concentration. There is fine tension here and it gradually builds to a fine orange zest and tangerine-tinged finish with just a dab of spice on the aftertaste. This should age nicely over the next 6-8 years.
