The 2015 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière, of which around 35% was matured in oak foudres, has a very composed and well-defined bouquet with scents of hazelnut, oyster shell, dried lychee and Asian spices. This is complex and involving. The palate is very assured, the acidity nicely judged and counterbalancing a hell of a lot of concentration. Great body and depth, this is a Saint Aubin with ambition and it will pull it off. Just an outstanding white Burgundy for the vintage.
