The 1989 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière is drinking very well today, blossoming in the glass over an hour to reveal aromas of honeycomb, peach, Myer lemon, dried white flowers and oatmeal. Medium to full-bodied, rich and textural, it's unctuous and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit, lively girdling acids and a nicely defined finish. This is a terrific success that's in its prime today.
