I normally rate the Zinfandel Samsel Vineyard Maggie's Reserve higher, so I was surprised the 1993 exhibited high acidity, and tasted more compact than normal. Although dense, it did not possess the fat, expansiveness, and richness of previous vintages. Certainly the wine is good, it is just that other vintages have performed better. Prospective purchasers should age it for 12-15 months and drink it over the following 10 years. Are there any other veterinarians making wines this good? Dr. Rosenblum's Midas touch with Zinfandel has been evident for a number of years and I am delighted to report that it continues with the 1993s.Tel. (415) 865-7007
