The Zenato 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico opens to ripe and syrupy aromas of dark cherry and blackberry. The wine is marked by the very hot and dry vintage, and the 16.5% alcohol content is further proof of those extreme conditions. The wine is soft but thickly textured with aged aromas of dried fruit, spice and cured leather. Production is 75,000 bottles.

Dark and tangy, this medium- to full-bodied red has hints of crushed pine, violet and mandarin orange peel accenting blackberry fruit, minerally earth and iron. Well-spiced and expressive on the chewy finish. Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina.
