A blend of 85% Marsanne and 15% Roussanne that saw just 5% new French oak, the 2020 Crozes Hermitage Blanc comes across as rather broad and fleshy—medium to full-bodied but not the longest-lived candidate in the cellar—and marked by hints of white paste and ripe pear on the nose. Drink it over the next six months or so.

Vidal Fleury's 2019 Crozes Hermitage Blanc includes just a splash of Roussanne. Honeyed notes appear on the nose, joined by hints of muskmelon and pear, while the medium-bodied palate shows welcoming plumpness allied to admirable freshness. It's a round, welcoming wine, and it finishes with citrus zest and a touch of brine. Refreshing, especially given the hot, dry vintage conditions. Drink it young.

The Vidal Fleury 2016 Crozes Hermitage Blanc includes 5% Roussanne, which you might convince yourself you can perceive as a slightly honeyed nuance. Yet this medium to full-bodied white remains resolutely Marsanne in overall style, a largely neutral white with mere hints of almond, melon, pear and marshmallow that's more about weight and texture than flavor per se. Pair it with fish and poultry over the next couple of years.

The 2015 Crozes Hermitage Blanc (100% Marsanne aged in tank) is a clean, crisp white that has bright (almost tart) acidity, medium-bodied richness and attractive notes of citrus blossom and white flowers.

Made from 100% tank aged Marsanne, the 2014 Crozes Hermitage Blanc has plenty of citrus and lime characteristics in a crisp, juicy, straightforward style. It's well made and enjoyable.
