Pieropan's line of red wines includes the fresh and straightforward 2010 Valpolicella Superiore Ruberpan. The wine shows great intensity and a rich ruby color followed by layers of dried Mediterranean herb, sour cherry, dried rose petal and spice. It offers medium build and intensity that would work next to roast chicken or white meat. Drink 2014-2018. The Pieropan family makes impossibly delicious Soave Classicos and has set the benchmark for today-s Soave Revival. I can-t think of another Italian region that has reinvented itself so successfully. Sadly, my favorite wines - the Soave Classico Calvarino and the Recioto Le Colombare - did not make it in time for my tasting so I'll need to add those reviews later.
