Mostly barrel-fermented Roussanne, with some Clairette and Grenache Blanc, the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Prestige offers up charming aromas of toast, melon, white peach and lime. It's medium to full-bodied, slightly honeyed and generous, yet it remains refreshing and long on the finish.

The brassy-hued 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Prestige shows ample oak on the nose and palate, allied to ripe, luscious fruit. Predominantly Roussanne, fermented and aged in one-year-old demi-muids, it has developed hints of sweet corn and notes of grilled pineapple during its elevage. Opulent and lush, it's enormously seductive now, although I suspect it will drink well for at least 4-5 years based on its impressive concentration and length.

Roughly 60% Roussanne, with the balance a blend of Grenache Blanc and Clairette, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Cuvee Prestige offers up subtle hints of honey and toast on the nose, then fills out the medium to full-bodied palate with notes of pineapple and tangerine. It's crisper and more focused than the ripe, round 2018, but is it better? It depends on your individual preferences.

The stunning 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Cuvee Prestige features dramatic flavors of honey, pineapples and tangerines. It's broad, full-bodied and expansive in the mouth, imbued with palate-saturating richness. A blend of 60% Roussanne, 20% Grenache Blanc and the rest a blend of other permitted varieties, fermented and aged in 500- and 600-liter oak barrels, it boasts a flamboyant, exotic personality that I prefer to enjoy in its first several years.

The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Prestige Blanc switches up the varietal mix. A blend of 80% barrel-fermented Roussanne with steel-fermented and aged Grenache Blanc and Clairette, it offers up toasty, nutty scents of roasted cashews, pineapple and coconut. It's a cavalcade of bold flavors, broad on the palate yet long and briny on the finish. It should prove capable of aging up to a decade, but I'd opt for drinking it young for its flamboyant exuberance.
