One step up in sophistication and pedigree compared to the base Campofiorin is the 2010 Brolo Campofiorin Oro. The base Campofiorin is great for sitting by the fireplace with family and friends, but this is a wine of extra caliber for dinner parties and elegant company. The bouquet is tightly woven with threads of dark fruit, spice, tobacco and cola. The wine shows a thicker, more elaborate level of extraction in the mouth. It tastes more like an Amarone than a Ripasso.
