The 2006 St.-Peray Fleur de Crussol is very similar, but more delicate and not as broad and powerful.Consistently one of the top estates in Cornas, Alain Voge, who survived a liver transplant in 1998, is now partnered with the brilliant oenologist who worked for Michel Chapoutier, Alberic Mazoyer. In fact, Chapoutier is one of Voge’s investors. Alain Voge, who owns nearly 18 acres in Cornas, with some fabulous old vine parcels in Chaillot and Combe, also has 15 acres in St.-Peray, where he fashions one of that appellation’s finest dry whites, the Chablis look-alike called Fleur de Crussol. A rich, buttery and textured beauty that stays lively and fresh on the palate, the 2006 Saint Peray Fleur de Crussol (100% Marsanne brought up in 30% new barrels) is medium-bodied, impeccably balanced and has a salty edge in its stone fruits and white flower aromas and flavors. It's a classy, mature white ideal for drinking over the coming 4-5 years.

Ripe and almost flashy, with graham cracker and heather honey notes up front, but well-integrated acidity, a long, minerally spine and additional floral, citrus peel and melon flavors are defined and balanced.
