The 2010 Gigondas Romane Machotte reveals more elegant red currant characteristics intermixed with licorice, incense, Christmas fruitcake and foresty notes. This medium to full-bodied, stylish red could easily be confused with a top-notch Pinot Noir in a blind tasting. Consume it over the next decade. (Not yet released) The well-known firm of Pierre Amadieu has a strong portfolio of Gigondas.
