Aromas of dark cherries, dark plums and sweet spices. Full body with creamy tannins and texture. The palate is round and rich with a coating of berries towards the peppery finish. Drink or hold.

A spicy nose with dark berries, spiced cherries, roasted peppercorns and other baking spices. Medium to full body with plush tannins. Rich and bittersweet on the mid-palate with loads of dark cherries and blackberries kicking in. Textured and fruity finish with excellent length. Drink now.

A sleek red, with nice polish to the boysenberry, steeped tea and red licorice notes wrapped around a core of graphite. The supple palate is reined in by silky tannins, and there's impressive density through the long finish. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Lavau's 2017 Gigondas is only 50% Grenache, with 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. Partly aged in slightly used barrels, it offers up scents of scorched cedar but also blueberry and ripe stone fruit. Full-bodied and concentrated, with a coarse, open-knit texture and a long, chewy finish, it should drink well from 2020-2026.

Rich and alluring, with waves of dark plum and warmed raspberry puree gliding through, inlaid with savory, chalky mineral and smoldering tobacco notes. Everything meshes nicely through the lengthy finish. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
