The 2013 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru les Vergers has a very generous, almost tropical-tinged bouquet: guava, dried mango, hints of grilled almond and brioche soaring from the glass. The palate is rounded in the mouth with notes of orange sorbet and peach. Fortunately, any blowsiness is avoided with a keen thread of acidity that keeps this lovely Les Vergers focused and tensile. This is worth seeking out.
