Reynaud’s inexpensive reds include the 2008 Vin de Pays, a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre and tiny amounts of Syrah, Cinsault and Counoise. It is an attractive berry-scented wine with lots of earth, underbrush and autumnal notes. Medium-bodied and spice, it is ideal for drinking over the next several years. At his home estate, Emmanuel Reynaud (who has been producing the Rayas wines since 1997) has nearly 100 acres of vineyards from which he makes a wonderful array of value-priced reds and whites.Importer: Martine’s Wines, Novato, CA; tel.
