The 1994 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits plenty of sweet black-cherry fruit, the unmistakable scents of Provencal herbs and garrigue, excellent density, admirable glycerin and ripeness, and a long, full-bodied, heady finish. This rich, chewy wine tastes far better out of bottle than it did from foudre. Drink it now and over the next 6-8 years. Last tasted 6/96.
