More structured and firm, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape L’Immortelle is a blend of equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre that’s aged in oak vats. Offering up serious amounts of dark blackberry and currant styled fruits, rosemary, roasted meats, chocolate and liquid violets, this medium to full-bodied, concentrated effort has ample mid-palate depth and a blockbuster finish.
