Here's a cheerful wine to love and enjoy. The 2019 Etna Bianco presents a zesty range of Carricante-specific aromas that start off with tropical fruits and peachy sweetness and then veer toward crushed stone and mineral. This is a lean-bodied white with plenty of refreshing acidity and crispness. This bottle is a joy to drink, preferably with some stuffed clams. Some 70,000 bottles were made.

The 2018 Etna Bianco has a beautifully polished and glossy approach with star jasmine, bergamot, lemon blossom and lighter tones of crushed stone and ash. The wine is extremely linear, tight and fresh with a lovely progression of aromas that recalls the precision, brightness and lightness you get from this unique white grape on the volcanic soils of Etna. With 70,000 bottles made, this should be an easy wine to locate.

This is a super crisp and focused wine that impresses for its aromatic intensity and directness. The Planeta 2017 Etna Bianco opens to pretty notes of white flower, lemon zest and crushed mineral. In the mouth, you don't get the long persistence of previous vintages, but you do get the elegance and freshness.

Planeta's 2015 Etna Bianco is a terrific wine that shows surprising fullness and volume (for the Carricante grape which is usually more streamlined in approach). This wine, however, boasts extra stuffing or fiber that adds to the wine's volume and, ultimately, to its persistence. The bouquet delivers an attractive assembly of white peach, citrus, honey and crushed-granite aromas. The wine is inherently simple in spirit, but it awards a thoroughly refreshing drinking experience nonetheless.
