The Livio Felluga 2018 Collio Pinot Grigio (closed in a screwcap bottle) is fresh and zippy with Meyer lemon, honey, white peach and a touch of dried oregano. This is textbook Pinot Grigio executed with care and an eye to the integrity and the quality of those bright primary and varietal aromas. A lean and fresh mouthfeel serves to revive the palate, especially with an octopus salad and extra virgin olive oil.

The 2017 Collio Pinot Grigio is bright, refreshing and clean, showing an immediate and forthcoming delivery of primary aromas, including citrus, white peach and sliced pear. The wine sits squarely on the palate, imparting balanced acidity and a snappy, lean texture.

The 2014 Pinot Grigio is a clean and refreshing wine with citrus, apricot and white peach. This was a difficult vintage, but the Felluga family has been successful in presenting the softer and richer side of this versatile grape. Those pretty fruit tones are followed by drying mineral sensations and pretty layers of wild sage and dried basil leaf.

The 2012 Friuli Colli Orientali Pinot Grigio shows a surprisingly fragrant side of the grape with bright aromas of white peach, lemon blossom and honeydew melon. Pretty floral intensity fills in the rear. This is a rather unusual and especially sophisticated expression of stainless steel Pinot Grigio. Mineral tones and bright acidity appear on the close. Drink: 2014-2016. All these wines are imported to the United States with the exception of the Illivio white blend. No surprise, Livio Felluga has produced another knock-out collection of new vintages.
