A delicious Syrah heavy blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, the 2013 Cuvee Mirabelle gives up lots of red and black raspberry notes, dried herbs de Provence and spice in a charming, juicy style. There's some elevated acidity on the finish, but it has ample sweet fruit, no hard edges and plenty to love.

Moving to the Rhone blends, the 2012 Cuvee Mirabelle is a blend of equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre that saw 26 months in barrel (I wasn’t able to get the % of new barrels on any of these wines). It exhibits lots of black cherry-like fruit to go with lots of floral and violet nuances. This gives way to a medium to full-bodied, pure, layered and downright sexy red that has no hard edges, fine tannin and a great finish. I suspect it will age similar to a top Chateauneuf du Pape and have 15 years or so of overall longevity.

Soft, supple and mouth filling, the 2011 Cuvee Mirabelle checks in as a blend of 55% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. Exhibiting notions of black cherry, licorice, hints of plum and toast, it’s medium to full-bodied, rounded and layered on the palate, with a soft, supple and up-front profile. In short, it’s a delicious effort to drink over the coming 4 to 5 years. Possessing a tasting room in Woodinville, these rock-solid efforts are made by Kit Singh. Kicking off the reds, the 2009 Cuvee Mirabelle is a knockout, co-fermented blend of 80% Syrah, 10% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre that spent 30 months in neutral oak. Deeply colored, it delivers a rich, smoky bouquet of black cherries, vanilla, mineral and hints of grilled meat that gives way to a lively, fresh and medium to full-bodied 2009 that has superb purity, integrated acidity and serious length on the finish. Count me a fan and this blends juiciness and richness perfectly. Approachable now due to the balance, it should improve with another year or two in bottle and have 10-12 years up longevity.
