Kicking off the reds, the 2009 Cuvee Mirabelle is a knockout, co-fermented blend of 80% Syrah, 10% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre that spent 30 months in neutral oak. Deeply colored, it delivers a rich, smoky bouquet of black cherries, vanilla, mineral and hints of grilled meat that gives way to a lively, fresh and medium to full-bodied 2009 that has superb purity, integrated acidity and serious length on the finish. Count me a fan and this blends juiciness and richness perfectly. Approachable now due to the balance, it should improve with another year or two in bottle and have 10-12 years up longevity. Drink now-2021.
