Scents of freshly baked bread, crisp orchard fruit, orange oil and green mango introduce the 2020 Montagny 1er Cru Les Truffières, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and chiseled wine that's taut, penetrating and intense, exhibiting striking purity and persistence. I suspect it will emerge as the finest Truffières Lorenzon has produced to date.

Lorenzon's 2017 Montagny 1er Cru Les Truffières is a beauty, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of crisp green pear, oyster shell, fresh peach and a delicate top note of fennel. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and succulent, with a layered, enveloping core. It's the most charming, open-knit wine in the range and is already hard to resist. This bottling demonstrates that no one is pushing quality further in Montagny than Lorenzon.

Offering up pretty aromas of yellow orchard fruit, pears and preserved citrus, Lorenzon's 2016 Montagny 1er Cru Les Truffières is medium-bodied, bright and textural, with a generous attack that gives way to a tensile, concentrated mid-palate and a saline finish. This is a terrific wine that ranks among the best two or three wines being produced in the appellation.
