A 50-50 blend of Marsanne and Roussanne sourced near the lieu-dit of Ongrie, the 2020 Saint Peray la Belle de Mai is barrel fermented and aged. It's on the crisp, refined side this vintage, with hints of toast accenting lime and brine on the nose, while the palate is medium-bodied, silky and deftly balances textural richness with bright acids.

A 60-40 blend of Roussanne and Marsanne, the 2019 Saint Peray la Belle de Mai is a worthy successor to the excellent 2018 version. Ripe and round, honeyed and rich, yet possessing adequate structuring acids and a lingering, silky-textured finish, it's a full-bodied, mouthfilling white that should drink well for a couple of years.

The 2018 Saint Peray la Belle de Mai is a top-flight effort. A co-fermented mix of Marsanne and Roussanne, it's round with a hint of honeyed richness. Medium to full-bodied, it's silky-textured and lush, with a lingering finish. Drink it now and over the next two years.

The barrel-fermented 2017 Saint Peray la Belle de Mai is two-thirds Roussanne and one-third Marsanne. It was made in a mix of 400-liter and 228-liter barrels, just 5% of which were new. Honey, pear and melon notes mark the nose, while the palate is full-bodied and mouthfilling, ending with hints of white pepper and bitter citrus pith.

From sites up to 500 meters above sea level, the 2016 Saint Peray la Belle de Mai is a blend of 70% Roussanne and 30% Marsanne, unusually high in Roussanne for this appellation. It's a medium to full-bodied white with notes of pineapple and melon, a plump, silky mouthfeel and a long finish spiced up with a dash of white pepper.
