The 2020 Meursault Le Tesson wafts from the glass with aromas of white currants, ginger, lime, spring flowers and nutmeg, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and tensile palate that's taut and racy, concluding with a bright, precise finish.

The 2015 Meursault Le Tesson has more personality than the 2015 Meursault Très Vieilles Vignes with light resinous aromas, although it still needs more complexity. The palate is well balanced with grapefruit and peach notes on the entry, a brush of honey towards the finish that feels a little conservative, but shows commendable persistence. I can see this drinking well for 4-6 years, as it feels harmonious and pure.

The 2014 Meursault les Tessons has a lightly honeyed bouquet with a faint marine influence that becomes more accentuated with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a touch of almond on the entry and a keen thread of acidity with a touch of bitter lemon that enlivens and gives edginess to the finish. This is delightful.

The 2013 Meursault Les Tessons, which comes from the south part of the vineyard, said to be more precocious than the northern part, has a slightly subdued nose at first with cooking apple and pithy nectarine scents that need just a little mode definition. The palate is much better with admirable tension and vitality, a hint of sour lemon becoming more prominent toward the composed finish. It is just the aromatics that need to find their feet by the time of bottling.

The 2012 Meursault Les Tessons, comes from 55-year-old vines from the south part of climat upon red soils. It offers fine complexity on the nose with great tension: granitic scents developing with time accompanied by chalk and jasmine. The palate is very well-balanced with crisp acidity: lively in the mouth with citrus lemon, orange rind and a vibrant, mineral-driven finish. Excellent.
