The 2020 Saint Joseph Blanc is another terrific example of this cuvée, which—despite being a 50-50 blend of Marsanne and Roussanne—actually boasts hints of florals on the nose, alongside notes of ripe pear and melon. Full-bodied and ripe, it nevertheless boasts a shot of peppery spice and a faint bitterness that bring life and freshness to the lengthy finish.

The 2019 Saint Joseph Blanc is a gorgeous effort, richer, riper and rounder than the 2018 version, yet also fresher and spicier. Melon, pineapple and pear notes lead the way in this full-bodied 50-50 blend of Marsanne and Roussanne. It's ripe and fleshy yet peppery and long on the minutes-long finish.

In addition to being a year younger, the 2017 Saint Joseph Blanc comes across as being just slightly fresher than the 2016. It's still a full-bodied, rich, mouthfilling wine, but the melon and citrus flavors are brighter and linger longer on the finish. I'd still opt for drinking it young.

Honeyed, rich and broad, the 2016 Saint Joseph Blanc is a 50-50 blend of Marsanne and Roussanne that spent a year in 400-liter barrels. Full-bodied, round and creamy-textured, this concentrated wine shows plenty of heft and length, it just lacks a bit of freshness.

A wine you don’t see very often, Perret's 2015 Saint Joseph Blanc is a perfumed, classic white from the northern part of the northern Rh?ne Valley. Made from a mix of Marsanne and Roussanne, it has fabulous notes of buttered pears, toasted spice and caramelized citrus in its medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant, beautifully textured and balanced style. It's just another killer white from this incredible winemaker.
