The 2009 Pinot Noir Looney Vineyard proffers an expressive nose of spice box, incense, floral notes, cherry, and cranberry. Firmer on the palate than the Renegade Ridge bottling, it displays excellent depth and concentration for the vintage, some incipient complexity, and 1-2 years of aging potential. It offers a drinking window extending from 2012 to 2021.
Veteran winemaker Anna Matzinger appears to have maximized what nature provided in the warm 2009 vintage. She describes it as “a friendly vintage with lots of sunshine in the glass”.
