For the first time, my favorite Chevillon wine is their 2003 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Perrieres. Its aromatics reveal juniper smoked bacon, black cherries, blackberries, and notes of licorice. Rich, lush, densely packed, as well as studded with candied dark fruits, leather, and smoky minerals, it is medium to full-bodied. Admirably ripe, this outstanding wine exhibits a stunningly long finish replete with additional layers of sweet black cherries. Projected maturity: 2006-2015.
