The Cascina Adelaide 2019 Barolo Cannubi shows a delicate and subdued personality with emphasis on the blue flower, rose and chalky limestone aromas that are often associated with this important cru site. Those perfumes are light and fleeting with the pretty aromatic choreography that only Nebbiolo can offer. In my many years of tasting wine from Cascina Adelaide, I think this is their best wine yet. Production is limited to 3,500 bottles.

This has aromas of ripe cherries, blood orange, spice box and wet earth. Medium-bodied with velvety tannins and chocolaty texture. Opulent and ripe red fruit on the lingering, supple finish. Try after 2025.

Leads with an intense perfume of rose, with flavors of cherry, raspberry, earth, mineral and tobacco. Though solidly built, with a base of dense tannins, this has a beam of fruit that lingers through the long aftertaste. Shows fine purity and overall balance.
