The 2004 Prima is 100% Tinto Fino aged for 11 months in French and American oak and bottled unfiltered. Purple-colored, it reveals notes of cedar, pencil lead, black currant, and blackberry liqueur. Medium to full-bodied, the wine’s personality is fruit-filled and flavorful. It has fine depth and concentration and the tannin is ripe. From the guys that do Mauro, one of Spain’s better ultrapremium reds, comes this heavy, forward, youthful red with chunky, lush aromas of fruitcake and licorice along with bruising flavors of black cherry and berry skins.
