Aged in 10% new oak, the Marsannay jumps from the glass with enticing white flower, nutty, minerally, and honeysuckle aromas. In the mouth, this wine displays very good richness, flowers, red berries and an appealing tanginess on the finish. Drink now-1999. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29.
Known for their red wines, this domaine also makes one of Burgundy's finest roses, and, in general, good to very good whites. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the three whites I tasted on my visit in January. All three are extremely well made, displaying nice structure and excellent ripeness.
