The Chassagne-Montrachet Clos St. Jean displays a medium-to-dark ruby/purple color, and a lovely nose of perfumed violets and blueberries. On the palate, sweet red and black berries come on full bore in this masculine, medium-to-full-bodied, velvety-textured, and intense wine. Its appealing finish reveals blackberries, minerals, and traces of earth-like flavors, and well-rounded tannins. Projected maturity: now-2003.
