While the 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon-Santa Cruz is backward and tannic, it is a marvelously concentrated and rich Cabernet for drinking in about 7-8 years. It should last for up to three decades. Dark ruby/purple-colored, with a tight but promising bouquet of cassis, minerals, licorice, and toast, it displays full, dry, austere, yet loaded flavors. Do not touch it before the end of this century.
