The Meursault Les Tillets (a terroir that performed impressively well for a number of estates) has a beguiling nose reminiscent of a nutty cream sauce. It is fresh, well-delineated, and medium-to-full-bodied, with a citrus, spiced apple and red currant-laced personality. This penetrating, powerful, elegant, and extremely well-crafted offering is a first-rate village wine. Readers should note that Les Tillets, a vineyard located high on the hill overlooking Poruzots (a premier cru), produced numerous successes in 1997. This offering should be at its peak between 2001 and 2007.
